Happy Holidays from Fairfax Circle Villa Apartments

Christmas at Fairfax Circle Villa Christmas at FCVA!

Thanksgiving has come and gone, so the next big holiday is the all-time favorite: “Christmas”.  It’s a time for friends and family to get together, share gifts and good cheer, and of course, decorating. Home decor isn’t something that always comes naturally; most of us have experienced a level of decorating frustration.  Mixing and matching colors and styles, being trendy while staying true to yourself is no small task.  But with Christmas right around the corner, holiday decorating is an essential part of getting into the spirit. Whether your home is a house or apartment, holiday decorating is about being fun, festive, and unique. Because the decorations are temporary it’s okay to go all out and enjoy the season.

Here are a few color schemes to get your creative juices flowing inside your apartment:

Blue, Green, and Silver

For those of you who were born and raised in Florida, this is a perfect color combination.  It’s festive enough to remind you of the holiday season, but the blues and greens also remind you of that clear ocean water that Florida is famous for!blue-green-silverWhite and Silver

For those who want to be enveloped in all that is winter especially at Christmas time, white and silver gives the effect of a beautiful snow scene.white-and-silverTeam Spirit

Ingredients

  • 3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10-inch tube/Bundt(R) pan.
  • Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.
